EUROPUR Board of Directors, Benidorm, June 2025

“I would like to thank the Members for their trust in electing me as President of EUROPUR for the next three years. Flexible polyurethane foam is a vital material for comfort and performance in a wide range of applications, particularly bedding and furniture. Our sector is committed to making this material more sustainable, but we face complex regulatory and market pressures. The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) will be a key driver of change, and it must strike the right balance between sustainability ambition and industrial feasibility. We must ensure that upcoming requirements are practical, science-based, and - above all - guarantee a level-playing field for all stakeholders. We are getting ready for this and have already put in place various tools to prepare for the future legislation. I am confident that, together with the new Board, we will lead EUROPUR with a clear focus on constructive dialogue, smart regulation, and concrete results for our industry and its stakeholders.”
